About Our School

Cork University Hospital School is a Department of Education & Skills, 2-teacher, Multi-Denominational, Special School, which caters for the educational needs of children during their hospital stay.

It was officially opened in September, 2000, by Micheál Martin, then Minister for Health and is located on the Puffin Ward in Cork University Hospital.

It operates during the normal school year and follows the Primary and Secondary curriculum.
It operates from 8.50 a.m. to 2.30 p.m.

Cork University Hospital School sadly said goodbye to former principal Gobnait Curran in October 2020. Gobnait served as principal from September 2000 until October 2020. She is much missed in the school by the hospital staff, parents and students alike. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. We wish you all the best on your future endeavours.
